Straightening teeth increases overall systemic health
Recent studies have shown that our periodontal (gum) health has been linked to many facets of our overall health. As has been discovered, the dangerous bacteria in the mouth responsible for periodontal disease(disease of gum and bone supporting the teeth) have also been found to be a contributing factor to cardiovascular disease, which could result in increased laying down of fatty cholesterol , increased blood pressure, increased chance of stroke, or increased chance of heart attack. If that isn't enough to cause alarm, they have also been linked to premature pregnancies with low birth weights, and increased complications for those who suffer from diabetes.
More recently, studies have shown these same dangerous bacteria can be present in otherwise healthy mouths, but in areas with misaligned teeth. Generally, misaligned teeth make it easier for more dangerous types of bacteria to accumulate. Invisalign treatment, by realigning the teeth into their correct relation, places the contacts between the teeth into an optimal position, and greatly reduces the formation of these dangerous bacterial colonies. This is a fantastic step the patient can take in controlling his/her health, thereby reducing one of the contributing factors to cardiovascular disease.

But will it work for me?
Invisalign can be used to treat several issues with teeth alignment:

-Crossbites/Overbites/Underbites: This occurs when the upper and lower parts of the jaw do not meet ideally with each other.
