If you dream of achieving a beautiful, natural-looking smile, cosmetic dentistry could be for you. The most common cosmetic treatment is the use of porcelain veneers. Dr. Donia uses only the best materials available to create a dramatic difference in your smile. If you are looking for a small change or an extreme makeover, veneers can help renew a smile instantly and permanently. Veneers can restore a sense of youth and vitality to your smile, sometimes taking years off the face. Dull or worn down teeth can be transformed into younger-looking teeth that are brighter and fuller, allowing you to smile with confidence.

What are they?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth, whereas porcelain crowns wrap around the entire tooth. Depending on the requirements for your smile, Dr. Donia will determine which is correct for you. Porcelain veneers can be used for the following:

Chipped teeth    Cracked teeth    Stained teeth
Crooked/misaligned teeth    Gaps

The process

Typically, porcelain veneers and crowns require at least two visits to the office. Before proceeding, Dr. Donia will provide examples of what can be achieved and discuss photos or any other desires you may have in creating your new smile. During the initial  appointment, Dr. Donia will gently contour the outer layer layer of enamel, shaping them to create a more proportioned and ideal foundation for your new smile. An impression is taken, and used as model to create the the veneers. Dr Donia will place a set of custom temporaries that closely matches the cosmetic mock up created at the consultation. At the seat appointment, Dr. Donia will remove the temporaries and place the veneers, adjusting them ever so slightly to assure they fit the features and contours of your face. With proper care, these restorations can last up to 20 years; additionally, they resist staining because they are made of non-porous porcelain.

I've heard about no-prep veneers ... what about those?

In some cases, no-prep veneers can be utilized to create a harmonious smile. These are wonderful restorations, and can create beautiful results if used in the correct situation. Only a highly trained cosmetic dentist can determine if no-prep veneers are an option for you.
